How to post without getting flagged
Two rules. Follow them and your videos stay compliant and keep their reach.
Always add the disclosure line
You earn a commission, so the FTC and every platform require you to say so, clearly. It has to be on the post itself, not hidden in your bio. Put this in your caption and say it in the video:
#ad - I earn a commission if you try it.Disclosing does not hurt your views. Platforms confirm disclosed content performs the same. Skipping it can get the video pulled from the For You feed within hours, which kills your reach and your earnings.
Frame it as checking yourself, not spying
Platforms restrict content that promotes surveillance or looking up other people. The safe, high-performing angle is the self-check: “see what's public about you.” It converts just as well and keeps your account safe.
Say this
- Search yourself before someone else does.
- See what's publicly connected to your own number.
- Do a quick privacy check on yourself.
- I checked my own footprint and you should too.
- Know what a stranger could find about you.
Never this
- Spy on your boyfriend.
- Track anyone without them knowing.
- Pull his criminal record / background check.
- Find someone's home address.
- Stalk your ex.
Before you hit post
- Put the disclosure in the caption AND say it or show it on screen.
- Keep it visible without tapping 'more' or opening your profile.
- Frame it as a self-check or privacy check, not surveillance of another person.
- Never promise criminal records, addresses, or anything you can't deliver.
- Turn on the platform's branded-content / paid-promotion toggle when you post.
